ONE SCENE

ONE SCENE is a youtube series that explores the influences of successful screenwriters and directors by examining a single scene. We geek out on the details that make it great and discuss how it inspired that filmmaker and the things that they learned from it.

To keep things interesting and maintain that perspective of someone who’s earlier in their career, we also add a third person to the mix: an aspiring and unrepped screenwriter or director.

It’s fascinating and unique, every time. Want to be part of it? Great! I’d love to hear from you.

Professional Screenwriters and Filmmakers

  • My goal is to bring in people who have multiple credits and/or more experience than I do, simply because I’m always looking to learn

  • Prep is easy: I just need you to pick a scene far enough in advance that I can track down the screenplay and watch or rewatch the movie

  • In case it’s a concern, I’ll be communicating separately with the aspiring writer or filmmaker. So unless you want me to share your contact info, it will remain private

  • Have something to promote? We’ll make that happen

  • Please reach out by email and click that icon in the upper right corner. Thanks!

Aspiring Screenwriters and Filmmakers

  • I’m interested in bringing on people from a wide spectrum of skill, experience, and backgrounds. Sometimes these are people I’ve already met, but sometimes… they’re simply people who follow the channel and who want a chance to do something cool

  • In addition to being comfortable on camera and in conversing with two professionals, I’m seeking people who:

    • Are unrepped and who have not earned more than $10,000 from their craft

    • Have written at least two full scripts (screenplays or pilots) OR made at least two short films or one microbudget feature

    • Are a subscriber to the channel

  • Also, please know that this is not about expanding your network. It’s about getting to take active part in a super cool learning experience, giving something back to the community, and perhaps getting your name out there a bit (you’ll be more than welcome to promote a project at the end of the episode)

  • Want in? Please follow all of the instructions below

  • Because of the large volume of submissions, your bio is the number one here. Let me know about your experience, but also tell me about your background. What makes you interesting?

Please note:

  • I will reach out as I schedule new episodes. Please don’t follow-up by email
